Dr. Karen McCloy

Karen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and also a Diplomat of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. Karen has her Masters Degree in facial pain and sleep and is currently enrolled to do her PHD at the University of Qld on Facial Pain.

Qualifications:

•       Bachelor of Dental Science

•       Masters of Science (Sleep Medicine)

•       PhD University of Queensland (Facial Pain).

Karen’s passion is orofacial pain & sleep disorders and is concerned about the health & well being of all of her patients. She is dedicated to helping you minimise snoring, headaches, jaw pain, reflux, grinding of teeth and tiredness, just to name a few.

Outside of dentistry Karen loves spending time with her family & enjoys reading, sewing, embroidery & fishing. You will see some of Karen’s masterpieces displayed throughout the practice.

Dr Karen welcomes referrals from GPs, neurologists, ENT specialists, sleep physicians, physiotherapists, and psychologists for patients with:

•       Suspected or confirmed obstructive sleep apnoea requiring oral appliance therapy

•       TMJ disorders or orofacial pain unresponsive to conventional treatment

•       Bruxism with associated headache, jaw pain, or sleep disturbance

•       CPAP-intolerant patients seeking an alternative
